Biography

Ruoqi Li, a Chinese violinist, is currently active on the European classical music scene. She is renowned for her exceptional technique and expressive musicality, having performed in numerous internationally acclaimed concert halls and stages.

Ruoqi began studying the violin at the age of five and quickly distinguished herself in various national and international competitions, including the prestigious Paganini Violin Competition. Her early achievements laid a solid foundation for a distinguished and versatile musical career.

In 2012, Ruoqi studied at the China Conservatory of Music under Wu Yang, concertmaster of the China Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2016, she moved to Europe to further her studies with Philippe Koch, concertmaster of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, and earned her Master’s degree in Violin Orchestral Performance (scored number 1 in Chamber Music) from the Royal Conservatory of Liège.

She has held positions in prestigious ensembles such as the China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, the China Philharmonic Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, and the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège in Belgium. Her performance experience spans symphonic repertoire, opera productions, and chamber music collaborations.

Ruoqi has performed in major venues including the National Centre for the Performing Arts (Beijing), the Great Hall of the People, and the Zhongshan Concert Hall. She has toured internationally with the China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Youth Orchestra (NJO) in the Netherlands, Italy and across Europe, demonstrating remarkable stage presence and musical expressiveness.
